What songs can I bring in?

Anything you have as a file on your iPhone:

• ADD SONG opens Files: MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF and other audio files.
• Voice Memos: open the memo, tap Share, then RUN IT DOWN.
• Videos: RUN IT DOWN reads the video's sound.
• Any app with a share button: Share, then RUN IT DOWN.

Why can't I pick a song from Apple Music or Spotify?

Songs you stream in Apple Music, Spotify and other streaming apps are locked to those apps. No other app on the phone can open them, RUN IT DOWN included.

Two easy ways around it: play the song out loud from any speaker and tap LISTEN, or use a file you own (a purchase, a bounce from your session, a rehearsal recording).

How does LISTEN work?

Tap LISTEN, then play the song: a speaker, the band, your rehearsal. When the song ends, tap STOP · COUNT IT, or let it stop by itself when the band stops. Soft playing still counts. The recording stays on your phone.

How does COUNT IT OFF work?

If bar one landed in the wrong spot, open the song and tap COUNT IT OFF. You get a count, then the song plays from the top. Tap 1 · 2 · 3 · 4 on bar one, in time.

Your first tap is the one, and the spacing of your taps is the tempo. RUN IT DOWN re-counts every section from your one.

The count is off. How do I fix it?

Tap FIX IT. You can rename a section (every repeat of it follows), add or take away bars, split or merge sections, set BAR 1, switch the tempo ×½ or ×2, and flip to the relative key.

A count in red with a ! is one RUN IT DOWN wants you to give a listen.

What do COUNT IN and CLICK do?

COUNT IN plays one bar of clicks before the song starts, so you come in together. CLICK plays a metronome locked to the record, with bar 1 accented. FROM THE TOP starts the song over.

How do I share the road map?

COPY SHORTHAND copies the line (like INTRO 4 · V1 16 · HOOK 8) so you can paste it into the band text. Tap the line for the full-screen MUSIC STAND view.

What's free, and what does $0.99 get me?

Your first 3 songs are free. After that, one $0.99 purchase covers every song you add from then on. It's a one-time purchase: no subscription, nothing renews. Songs you've already counted stay open either way.

How do I restore my purchase?

On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling the app:

1. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you bought it with.
2. Open RUN IT DOWN and tap UNLOCK at the bottom of the pad.
3. Tap RESTORE PURCHASE.

You won't be charged again. If the App Store isn't answering, try again in a moment.

Where are my songs saved? Do I need internet?

Everything stays on your iPhone, and the app works in airplane mode. Your songs and sets are included in your phone's own backup if you back it up. Deleting the app deletes them, so save anything you want to keep first. More in the privacy policy.
